Rules Of The Competition

The Municipality of Netanya, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Israel,

tourist company “Forum”, Russia , company “String Meytar”, Israel , “Art Rainbow” Society, Israel, company “Guitarras Madrigal”, Spain are organizing the 6th International Classical Guitar Festival-Competition

"Guitar Gems” 2011 that will take place in Netanya, Israel, from Friday, October 14 to Tuesday October 18, 2011.


• The competition will be conducted in two rounds: preliminary and final round.
• Number of finalists is not limited.
• No age limit.

 

The program:
Preliminary round – free choice of program, total time maximum 15 minutes, contrasting styles.
Final round – free choice of program, total time maximum 25 minutes, contrasting styles.

 

Youth International Competition:
(up to 16 years old)
• Preliminary round:
- free choice of program, total time maximum 10 minutes
• Final round:
- free choice of program, total time maximum 15 minutes
- music from different epochs


• The opening ceremony will take place in "Heyhal a - Tarbut" Concert Hall, Netanya, on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 12:00
• The participants' order of appearance in the preliminary audition will be fixed after a draw that will take place in "Heyhal a - Tarbut" Concert Hall, Netanya, on Friday, October 14, 2011, immediately after the Opening Ceremony in the presence of the Jury and anyone interested. The draws for the order of appearance in the final round will take place shortly after the end of the previous round.
• The opening concert will take place in "Heyhal a - Tarbut" Concert Hall, Netanya, on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 20:00
• The International Classical Guitar Competition "Guitar Gems” 2011 will start on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 10:00.
• The preliminary and the final rounds will be open to the public

 

Conditions for participation
• Guitarists of any age and nationality can take part in the competition.
• Contestants do not have the right to participate in different rounds with the same piece. In such a case their participation will be considered invalid.
• No change in the contestants' program will be accepted after the expiry of the deadline for submission of applications.
• Contestants who wish to withdraw should notify the secretariat of the competition in time. The registration fee will not be refunded for any reason.
• The organizers of the competition have the exclusive rights of recording, radio or television broadcasting of a part or even the whole of the competition, as well as the use of any material related to the competition (names, photographs, etc).
• Contestants should perform the works of the program of each round from memory and observe the time duration.
• The winner has no right to participate in following editions of "Guitar Gems" international competition as a contestant.

The deadline for submission of application forms and deposit of registration fee is September, 15, 2011.

The registration fee of the competition is €60.00 (€40.00 for Youth Competition), and must be deposited, with the application form, at the secretariat of the competition. It can be paid with bank transfer to the following account:

• The application forms for entry in the competition, accompanied with the copy of the bill, confirming the payment of the registration fee, should be sent to Organizing Committee by e-mail: Guitar-Gems@mail.ru

• In order to reduce the accommodation and transportation costs the organizers of “Guitar Gems” Festival-Competition propose their support. For 275 euros you are offered for six day staying in center located hotel on BB (Bed & Breakfast) base with two organized transfers from/to airport Ben-Gurion: at 11.10.11 and 18.10.11. This price includes also free entrance to all Festival events. This money can be paid with bank transfer to the same account, marked “Guitar Festival”

• Application for entry in the competition implies that the contestants unconditionally accept all the rules and regulations currently established.
