Antonio Picado
When Antonio Picado arrived in Barcelona at the age of 19, he brought with him both uncommon dexterity and sensitivity. Two years later he built his first guitar, and thus began a caree of almost thirty years which has placed him among the most experienced professionals in the art of making guitars for both concert artists and students. With construction almost entirely by hand craftsmen, the six members of the Antonio Picado workshop make some 500 guitars a year, 95% of which are exported to European countries including Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland and Great Britain, as well as more distant lands such as Japan and Israel. The Antonio Picado workshop's absolute adherence to standards of excellence has earned it a top reputation among its clients as well as a number of prizes and certificates of recognition.
